In some industries there are five generations of employees on the same project. Imagine that! One member of the team grew up with the internet while another can remember the day they witnessed their first bowl of microwave popcorn.
When we surveyed our clients, they shared with us the top challenges they are facing:
1) Seasoned employees who are reporting to a younger manager
2) Being the youngest person in charge of a team
3) Stereotype of the generations
4) Knowledge walking out the door with the mass Boomer retirement
With all the complexities, rest assured these are exciting times in an agile environment. While there is no silver bullet, the takeaway is get to know the individual. We are really not that different! 😉
